Since 1987, while pursuing a degree in photography at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Douglas Sheppard, owner of PodiumFotos, has been capturing images for use in magazines, newspapers, commercial and personal use.
In those days digital photography was more a concept than a reality. Recognizing digital photography to be the way of the future, Doug set about to create a digital work flow long before high resolution digital cameras existed.
The digital world has advanced rapidly since 1999. Hardware and software advancements come to market at breakneck speed. PodiumFotos continues to ride the cutting edge of the technology curve. Doug constantly tests new products to make the latest and greatest technology is the very best in every way.

Lighting
The final image is a result of the amount of light, the direction of the light, and the quality of the light.
Doug chooses the right light, or combination of lights, to capture your image, no matter what it is, perfectly, accurately, and in every detail. From Pocket Wizard wireless remote controlled color corrected and UV balanced studio lighting by Norman, to natural light, Doug has the lighting experience to show it off to its best advantage.
Doug specializes in lighting your image to capture the true and accurate colors, all the fine details, controlling (or preventing) reflections and shadows, while at the same time achieving colors that are true to the product.
PodiumFotos cameras, monitors and computer systems are calibrated and profiled to insure accurate color representation.
Doug uses Pantone certified color management systems including Pantone ColorVision and the SpyderPro color calibration system.
Your images can be provided in any format you require - press, print or web ready. Doug will provide the optimized color corrected images for that media.
